Old doors and windows are often covered with a multitude of layers of paint ... not always easy to remove! Two solutions are available to you:
Chemical pickling, thanks to a gel (Dilunett type from Durieu): devoid of solvent, this gel is applied using a brush with synthetic bristles and the tools are rinsed with water. Then scrape the wood with a spatula.

If this is not enough, in particular to clean all the rough edges of the wood, use a heat gun. You can also make the wood look beautiful by plugging holes and cracks with a quick-drying, easily sanded acrylic wood paste. Always proceed in two passes to fill the deepest gaps.

Preparation of metal parts

For metal parts, choose Rustol, an anti-corrosion print that blocks rust, after careful brushing and dusting. Then use a glycerophthalic paint, reinforced with an anti-rust.

Paint a smooth surface

Your kitchen in white laminate "takes you out of your eyes" ... No need to change everything, even if this type of support, very smooth, is a little difficult to work: there are specific undercoats (Julien type) which allow you to '' use the finish of your choice. Beforehand, the bottoms must be washed and rinsed well then degreased with a powerful solvent (trichlorethylene or acetone depending on the support). As this undercoat has a slightly satin white appearance, it lends itself perfectly to the use of stain which will offer a very light appearance.
