1. The essentials in a small bathroom: hanging WC and combined bath / shower

In this small rectangular bathroom of 2.50 mx 1.70 m, ideal in a studio or a small apartment, we focus on the essentials. This brings together the essentials of "space saving". The toilet is suspended, on a support frame concealing the flush (more aesthetic). The front door opens onto the outside of the room, thus allowing greater freedom of movement in the volume. Nothing worse, in fact, than being blocked by the opening of a door, a cupboard or a drawer. The combined bath / shower allows the occupants to take either a real bath or a shower in a comfortable space. A good compromise for those who love to bask in the water when they have the time. Finally, on a small storage unit is placed a circular basin, with a softer and contemporary design than a pedestal sink (which would unnecessarily occupy the space dedicated to storage). To clear the floor space, you choose your wall-hung washbasin, to be fixed to the wall. What paint colors to choose? To enlarge the space, we play with white and light colors. One can also place a mirror above the basin to create an impression of depth, and above all do not hesitate to bring in the light and increase the lighting. In short, there are tricks to not feel cramped in small rooms…
2. Small bathroom open to the bedroom

Open spaces are on the rise! Even with a small volume like this, it is possible in less than 5 square meters to arrange a comfortable bathroom open to the bedroom. It's not exactly a parental suite, but we're getting close. This rectangular shower room of 2.60 mx 1.80 m accommodates a large shower with an extra flat shower tray. Both design and very comfortable, it facilitates access to the shower for everyone, including people with reduced mobility, seniors and children. Cheaper than a walk-in shower, the flat shower tray looks very similar to it and blends perfectly into a modern bathroom. It is very easy to install, by placing it or embedding it in the ground. A must have! In front of the window, a large oval shaped basin is installed, centered on a shallow piece of furniture. This allows the storage of towels and hygiene and beauty products, without taking up too much space. Thus, sufficient space for comfortable use is freed, and allows the installation of a suspended toilet. And here is a second example of a small bathroom that contains the essentials!
3. How to arrange an atypically shaped bathroom?

The orientation of the walls of this bathroom (of average length and width of 3.45 mx 1.65 m) testifies to an old construction. This example illustrates a problem widely encountered in renovating an apartment bathroom in major cities. How to make the most of space, without loss of surface, when the walls are not perpendicular? In this example, we see that it is better to avoid investing the two sections of wall that face each other: otherwise, you risk to point out that one of them is biased… The solution brought to this bathroom is the walk-in shower, whose shape is much more adaptable than a conventional shower. Indeed, we choose the shape we want! Two 1.80 m high partitions, perpendicular to the back wall, have been raised: one in glass acting as a shower screen, and the other in plasterboard offering the necessary privacy for the WC corner (bowl suspended, on a custom-made support frame). These two partitions make it possible to create a rectangular area which will accommodate two basins, essential for this family bathroom, as well as a small storage unit located between the two. Note that in this bathroom as in the other examples of this article, we install a towel radiator, essential for drying your bath linen and wrapping yourself in a hot towel after coming out of the shower or bath! Of course, there are other heating solutions, such as inertial radiators (dry or fluid), underfloor heating, the radiant panel…
4. Create a long parental suite

This 3.90 mx 1.95 m rectangular bathroom is the dream solution for fans of the master suite, who want to use all the space in a large bedroom. Our interior designer imagined an original bathroom, which gives a sacred character to the room! Arranged on a platform to hide the pipes and visually delimiting the shower area of the bedroom, the bathroom is hidden behind the headboard. It is equipped with a large shower area 1 m wide with an extra-flat shower tray. The shower is surrounded by two partitions each receiving a square basin, and storage furniture. On the long wall was placed a towel rack, in front of the shower, and two large mirrors were installed on both sides, opening up the perspective and space of this contemporary volume. Each side in this bathroom perfectly suited for a couple!
